FWDM, Filter-based Wavelength Division Multiplexer is based on thin-film filters technology. It can combine or separate light at different wavelengths with low insertion loss, high isolation and good stability. 3 port FWDM works at wavelength 1310nm/1490nm/1550nm, It can pass one wavelength and reflect two wavelengths. In this way, one wavelength is separated from the other two, which can be specified according to the requirement.
As you might know, the PON system works on 1310/1490 while the CATV system operates at 1550nm. These two system can be mixed through FWDM.
